    your Thread seems to got lost between the days around new year. Welcome to the Forum. We are usually introducing ourselfs. When this Forum was restyled acutally some things got missing as an area to do so. So just go ahead here. If you need any parts you cannot find please feel free to ask.


    This Forum is written in german and due to i drive some italian cars i know how it is when you found something interesting but can not follow because of language trouble. But there a translationtools for translating homepages that might help.

    as far as I remember there is something special about Opel in the Irish market. So your car would have been sold in Northern Ireland as a Vauxhall Astra while it was in the Republic sold as an Opel Kadett D. is that correct?
    Whatever, fine car and it is nice to see that it survived all those years on that demanding irish roads. Congrats for that.

    Soviel ich weiß, hat Opel auch Opel nach Großbritannien verkauft. Entweder parallel oder nur Anfangs. Es gab schon Opel mit Rechtslenkung dort drüben. Auch Vauxhalls wurden hier zusammengesteckt und rübergeschifft.

    Bis vor wenigen Jahren war die Stimmung in Republik Irland und Nordirland noch sehr aufgeladen. Wir haben vor einigen Jahren Opel-Händler in der Republik Ireland gesehen, jedoch nicht in Nordirland, bekanntermaßen Teil von GB. Unsere Erklärung war, dass aus Marketinggründen in der Republik die Marke Opel gewählt wurde, damit niemand Gefahr lief, sich in einem Auto aus "Feindesland" womöglich noch Ärger einzufangen oder von seinen nachbarn schief angesehen zu werden.
